Prosopagnosia, also called face blindness is a cognitive disorder, in which the ability to recognize familiar faces, including one‘s own face is impaired, while other aspects of intellectual functioning remain intact.
Forgetting Faces
Forgetting Faces is a fun and engaging way to train your memory. It is inspired by prosopagnosia and aims to destigmatize the disorder while giving players the opportunity to empathize with patients.
Instruction
Number of players: 2-4 players
Age: 8+
Duration: approximately 15 minutes
Preparation
The game consists of one stack of face cards and one stack of both feature and action cards.
Each player gets one random face card that can be looked at until one of the player faces his or her card down. Additionally, everyone gets seven randomly distributed playing cards which can consist of both feature and action cards and remain secret.
Gameplay
Every players turn starts by taking as many cards as needed to reach a total of seven. Any number of action cards can be utilized. Action cards can be: Take a look at your enemy’s face card or your own, Pick a card from a player of your choice, Give one of your cards to the player after you, Draw a card of your choice from the discard pile. Once the player finishes one hand card needs to be discarded faced down.
Goal
The goal is to find four face features until the priorly assigned face is complete. Is a person sure to have collected all features the completed face shall be exposed. The player wins and the game is over if the collected features are correct. If it was not correct the game continues and the player needs to renew the face card.
